Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer a free, 30 minute introductory consultation. I understand the importance of finding the right therapist; therefore, this obligation-free call will give you a chance to ask questions and get a sense of how I work. It will also give me an idea of what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain.

  • The session will start with a verbal run-through of the therapy agreement and confidentiality information. I’ll then ask further questions about the issue(s) that’s brought you to therapy, your current life circumstances and personal history. If there are any risk issues such as self-harm, these will be identified as will your hopes/expectations for attending therapy.

  • Sessions last for one hour. They typically occur at the same time every week, however I try to be as flexible as possible to accommodate clients’ busy schedules. If more than one session a week is required, I’m also happy to provide this.

  • Therapy is offered on an open-ended basis and the number of sessions is entirely your choice. Most clients start with six to eight sessions but regular reviews will determine if more or less is required.

  • Sessions are £75 per hour.

I offer a 12% discount for block bookings of 6 sessions.

Concessionary rates are available depending on clients’ needs and circumstances.

  • Bank details will be provided for clients to make a transfer prior to the session, however other options can be arranged.

  • A minimum of 48 hours is required to reschedule or cancel sessions. With the exception of emergencies, the full fee will be charged if changes are not made within the specified time.

Should you wish to terminate therapy, I kindly ask for a week’s notice.

  • I adhere to the BACP’s ethical code and data protection laws which state that all sessions are to be treated with the utmost confidentiality except in a few important instances such as where there is risk of harm to yourself or others.
